Permanent Jewelry FAQs
MetaMorph Jewelry Studio Permanent Jewelry FAQS
Can I book an appointment outside of the scheduled appointment only events?
If you would like to book an appointment for a party of 5 or more we can work with you to schedule an appointment outside of our Permanent Jewelry Bar event dates. Please call for more information.
What is permanent jewelry?
Permanent jewelry does not have a clasp, and cannot be taken off without having the jewelry professionally removed or cutting it off. Instead of a clasp, the two chain ends are laser welded together by one of our trained team members.
How long does permanent jewelry last?
There is no definitive timeline for permanent jewelry, it just depends on your lifestyle. The chain we use for our permanent jewelry is just like any other chain, it is not indestructible, the only difference is that there is no bulky clasp.
What if I want the bracelet taken off?
We're happy to remove your forever/permanent bracelet for free. If you want us to remove your bracelet and turn it into a regular bracelet with a clasp, we can do so for $3.
Does the Chain Tarnish?
Is it safe?
Yes! This is a painless, 100% safe process. Our team member will simply ask you to wear safety glasses to protect your eyes from the 2 second light flash during welding.
Are there age restrictions?
Yes! Anyone who is under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a legal guardian. We will not put permanent jewelry on children under the age of 5. Legal guardian: please bring a valid driver's license or other form of ID. If you are booking for a birthday group, please contact info@metamorph-jewelry.com or call (412)408-3136.
Is it really permanent?
Your chain bracelet will last as long as you want it to, or until it breaks. This is not an indestructible bracelet, and can break just as easily as any other chain bracelet. If ever you want your bracelet removed and turned into a regular bracelet with a clasp, we are happy to provide that service for you for an additional charge.
Travel
Because our bracelets are made out of either 14k gold filled or 925 sterling silver, you can wear your jewelry through any TSA check point. Precious metal jewelry does not need to be removed at the airport.
If you have an upcoming x-ray or MRI scheduled, we suggest scheduling your permanent bracelet appointment after that. If you need to have your permanent bracelet removed and re-welded on after your appointment there will be an additional charge of $15.
Breakage & Quality Issues
We have a 7 business day warranty on all of our permanent jewelry! This means that no matter what the reason we will re-weld broken permanent jewelry free of charge up to 7 business days after your appointment with proof of purchase. After the 7 business days you are responsible for paying a small re-weld fee if you break your permanent jewelry. Our walk-in hours are every Friday from 3-6pm. Rather make an appointment? Visit our re-weld page for more information.
Groups Over 6 People
We do accommodate groups for our permanent jewelry bar. Because groups require larger time slots, we ask that you give us a call or stop into our store to make arrangements prior to placing your order for groups of 6+.
Can I Cancel My Appointment
We do allow cancellations for a full refund up to 48 hours prior to your appointment. If you need to cancel at the last minute (after the 48 hour mark) and do not want to reschedule your appointment for a later date, we will retain 50% of your order total and refund the remaining 50%. This is to prevent cancellations, as we are reserving product and a time slot just for you and it becomes more difficult to sell that time slot at the last minute.
Can I Cancel My Order
We are able to cancel permanent jewelry orders up to one month after the date the jewelry was pre-ordered for a full refund. We do not accept cancellations on custom chain orders. If you cancel an order after 48 hours before your appointment you will only be refunded 50% of your pre-order. Please email info@metamorph-jewelry.com or give us a call so that we can help with your cancellation request.
